what even do you need for a website anyway?

Successful website projects are a collaboration between you, dear business owner, us.

A new website project or a website in need of a re-design is a digital presence filled with untapped potential. The potential to clearly communicate your message, your brand and your products/services with your target audience.

Mind. Explode.

How do we get there? Some of the key elements we work on are:

Requirements

Your requirements could focus on specific features that you are looking to have, for example, the ability for customers to purchase your products/services online. Be prepared to discuss your requirements with us as we can help you to understand what is and isn't possible.

Goals

Having scheduled, clear goals allows for easy communication during a website project. Do you want a sales funnel, drive traffic to your blog or subscription list, explain your services and get people to book? We'll map those goals out clearly to the content that makes sense on the page.

Content

The content on your website is one of the most important features. It has the power to draw people into your site and also the power to repel them back to the search engines. We insist on using a copywriter for all our projects. Trust us, you don't want the stress of writing your own content.

Imagine this...

before
after
That www of yours gets hidden away because it’s just not where you’re at.
You’re telling everyone from your barista to your babysitter to look up your site because it’s so much fun.
You’re answering inquiries which suck up too much time and energy, and are far from ideal.
Your perfect client connects with you and submits all the information you need to get started.
There are so many plugins and apps on your site that they fight sometimes and you’ve even forgotten what some of them do.
A well sorted and integrated tech stack lets you get on with your business in the smartest and fastest way possible.

Don’t have a website yet?

Imagine not having these problems in your life.
Ever.

So what will you get exactly?
a lined design website and brand agency australia 2200 067

Well, that really depends on what you need.

Our development team will build you the website you need based on our consultations and deep questioning.

We'll determine the number of pages, how your information flows and what functionalities you need, combine that with your shopping list of requirements and make sure you can get where you need to go.

In style.

What's always included?

Here's what we bake into every website which comes out of the A Lined Design website creation process.

01

A user experience-driven website designed to take potential customers and send them to your preferred call to action.

A user experience-driven website designed to take potential customers and send them to your preferred call to action.

Do you want users to contact you, buy the thing, or find you on social media? All of the above? In what order? We investigate how your ideal client thinks (not everyone mind you, just the high-value users you want to do business with), and turn those ideal visitors into customers through clever copywriting and design cues.

The truth is, no one does anything without being prompted to.  We need to ask your prospects in just the right way to do that thing which makes you money and keeps you in business... otherwise, they won't do it at all even if you are the right solution to their problems. A seamless user experience where you delight these special folk means your marketing efforts are well placed.

What does all this involve?

1. Perfected Elevator Pitch

It's important to focus on honing your core marketing messages and making sure that your tagline and the first two paragraphs of your website content are clear and compelling. You need to convey your business's unique selling proposition (USP) in just a few short words.

2. Clear Calls to Action

When marketing and business people say, “Why aren't our websites converting?” the response is usually a failure to provide clear calls to action. Most common CTAs are telephone numbers and “buy now” links, often the best site designs have value-driven CTAs, subtly guiding visitors to take the next steps. Calls to action are designed to engage visitors and guide them down paths to conversions. Visitors to your site require specific information before committing to purchases or inquiries, smart CTAs pre-empt the visitor's next steps and gently guide them through your site in the way you want.

Different business types require different calls to action - we'll make sure we point the right customers the right way.

3. High-Quality Content

Relevant content is one of the most important tools for driving traffic to your website. It shows your expertise and integrity and makes people want to buy from you. Quality content is essential for any business's online presence. Without quality content, you won't be able to effectively communicate your message, reach your audience, or explain why they need your product/service. Your web pages, emails, social media posts, etc., should be useful, informative, and engaging. They should be easy to understand and accessible so that people don't get bored or distracted by having to wade through too much text. We all have short attention spans these days, don't make the mistake of making your ideal client read more than they have to.

4. Gorgeous Visual Design

Visitors will be more interested in staying on your site if it’s aesthetically pleasing and visually intriguing.

The appeal of your website can go a long way towards establishing the quality of your business and your products. Your website should be attractive and visually engaging so visitors will feel compelled to stay on your site longer. In addition, they will be more likely to come back and tell others about your site.

We know how to make a site look great without being too distracting. We know what colours work together and what colours clash. We understand typography and font sizes. We know how to create a clean, simple, easy-to-navigate interface. Hiring us as your professional web designer is an investment in your future success. You'll save money in the short term because you won't have to pay someone else to do something you could easily do yourself. But in the long run, investing in a quality web designer will help you grow your online presence and increase your profits. That's right - working with our team of design experts will grow your business.

Beautiful, responsive website design

We all know just how much it sucks to click on the link of that thing you're interested in, only to find that the content is all janky, doesn't load, and links don't work.

And on the flip side, we have beautiful websites that don't really say anything at all... Might be pretty but delivers a poor user experience. Where's the contact info hiding at? What do you want us to do next? Ugh. Too hard, click away.

In our design consultation, before we nail down that creative brief with you, we'll examine some website designs you're inspired by and discuss how these sites might have some interesting features that might work for you, and then show others that we think might work for you. Our design solutions are always geared to what your business needs - no website templates or off-the-shelf products here!

Once your website is fully designed, after the content is sorted and the wireframes approved, we ensure that it will look equally fabulous for desktop users, tablet users, and mobile users.

This includes having a separate menu and site navigation (such as a hamburger menu) designed specifically for mobile websites, ensuring your website loads quickly with the right type of caching and image delivery service integrated with your server and website hosting, and a wide range of other considerations. Responsive web design is absolutely critical to get right!

What are the benefits of having a professionally built website for your business?

Regardless of whether a company is in an offline brick-and-mortar or digital space, having a strong online presence can have a huge impact on its success. In this day and age, some businesses still don't realise that a majority of their customers will visit their website before making a purchase.

A good website is essential to generate more revenue, but having a high-quality website isn't enough if it doesn't attract visitors.

You might be reluctant to get online because you think you're not tech-savvy or don't know how to manage a website properly. A Lined Design has helped numerous businesses of various sizes create their digital presence, and we can help you too - yes, even if you're a total techno-gumby!

Here are some of the best reasons why having a website matters.

a lined design website and brand agency australia 800 089
01

Looking legit

A website is one of the best ways to improve your company's credibility.

You can stand out from the crowd by creating a site that is visually appealing and clearly communicates quality content to your visitors.

If you don't have a website, people might think you're not legitimate. Having a website gives you an opportunity to create a good first impression and let people know you're a real company.
02

Brand presence

Showing off your company to potential clients is one of the best ways to get them interested in working with you. By clearly defining who you are, what your business represents, and what you're known for, you increase the odds of your potential customers choosing you over others.

Smaller businesses without websites often struggle to compete against larger companies that already have their own websites.
03

Lead Generation

Perhaps one of the most interesting benefits of having a website for your business is that you can increase your chances of getting leads.

People who find you online and become interested in your products and services will be able to get in touch with you because of the information they see on your site. By having an active and well-designed site, you'll be given the chance to increase your revenue. Website costs don't always equal a return on investment (ROI).
04

Organic Search Traffic

Once you've got a well-designed, SEO-optimised site, you have a good shot at appearing in Google searches. When people are looking for something, they might see your site among the top few listings. This could mean that you get lots of visitors from people who were searching for exactly what you offer.

Google has code to make your content appear in special places - you know those "people also ask" boxes? There are ways to get your content in there. We have some special sauce to sprinkle across your website to better those chances. Ad campaigns can't do this, only a specially optimised website can.
05

Time Efficiency and Better Customer Service

Many businesses get calls from prospective clients or current customers who ask simple questions about locations and hours of operation.

If you miss a call, they're likely to leave unhappy. Calls can also take attention away from what matters most - your products and services. A website can help solve both problems. In addition, it can provide helpful information to visitors without them having to make a phone call. Ultimately, it improves the overall user experience.
06

Digital Marketing

You'll need to drive visitors to your site before you start advertising. It's best to get your site up and ready for visitors before you start advertising. There's no point in plugging away at social media marketing, search engine optimisation, running ads everywhere, or even trying to increase your search ranking unless you have a website designed to take those eyeballs and direct them when you want - away if they are not the right fit for you and toward the best call of action if that person is your ideal client. Your content marketing strategy needs to be consistent across all your platforms to ensure that your digital marketing campaigns are effective.

Frequently Asked Questions.

That’s a tricky question. What do you want your website to do? How much information is on it? How customised does it need to be? The answers to those questions go a long way to helping us form a good idea of what your website will cost.

We don’t say $X for a five page website because our experience tell us that doesn’t allow for enough discovery and wiggle room in a project. We find that most clients spend $7,000-$9000 on blog/portfolio websites and upwards of $9,000 on ecommerce websites for their website design and development.

This does not include copywriting, which is a project must unless you are an experience web copywriter or marketer.

This kinda has the same vibe as above – what do you need your website to do? How much information will it have? Also, pages are not the only way of organising information as you have blog and product categories, sub pages, forms and schemas to think about too.

This is why we love to chat about a project and organise your information first.

The time it takes to produce a website depends on the size and complexity of your site and the quality of content that you have ready to go.

No content = no website.

A basic website typically takes around 10 weeks from beginning to end IF you have all your content ready to roll.

Yes, we can help you get this set up and we can work with your existing provider. We offer hosting through Siteground.

We will not build on GoDaddy hosted sites because we cannot guarantee any level of performance. We work with Siteground and have found them to be outstanding in every way.

Yes it will. All the websites we design work on all devices. We generally design for three screen sizes (mobile, tablet and desktop).

Good stuff.

Absolutely! We work in WordPress and Woocommerce to deliver super customisable, fully client-owned (betchya didn’t know that some platforms don’t confer ownership when you build there?), SEO ready, fast and beautiful eCommerce setups.
